 Diane Shallue received her undergraduate degree in 1971 from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN, majoring in Elementary Education. She later studied at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, MN and in 1993 received a Master's in the field of Pastoral Theology and Ministry. She was also commissioned as an Associate in Ministry in the ELCA in September 1993. In December 2002, she received the Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership through the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, MN. Her dissertation title is "Staging the Role of Elder: A Case Study of an Intergenerational Day Care."
Diane received the LACE (Lutheran Association of Christian Educators) Christian Educator of the Year Award in 2005. This award is given to those who have served at least 10 years in the field of Christian Education, shown leadership in the field and have been a informative influence on other Christian educators. She received this award at a special presentation in Saint Louis, Missouri, in February of 2006. Diane is a member of LACE and serves as the Region 3 Representative on their National Board.
