Families Moving Forward

Families Moving Forward (FMF) - An Interfaith Hospitality Network Serving Homeless Families is a network of churches and volunteers in the Twin Cities working together to provide a safe and nurturing environment for homeless families with children, and support services to help them plan for a better future. FMF is affiliated with the National Interfaith Hospitality Network. The host congregations provide overnight shelter, supper, activities and entertainment, snacks, supplies for bag lunches and breakfast. At the Day Shelter, guest families store their belongings and spend the day, if not working or in school. Showers and laundry facilities are also available. The Day Shelter staff provides assistance in setting goals, obtaining housing and other family services. In partnership with Real Estate Equities, Inc., FMF has become a provider of affordable housing. The FMF coordinator at University Lutheran Church of Hope is Bryan Kufus.
