We believe that children in the process of formulating their Christian faith need a faith community which: Affirms promises made in baptism by the parents and the congregation Sparks a desire to learn about God's Word Inspires a thankful heart Energizes us to serve Develops positive, trusting relationships with God and each other.
Our Christian community can nurture a place for faith to grow when we: Build caring relationships Focus on interests, not ages Celebrate diversity Welcome children in worship Emphasize service and social justice Promote a sense of wonder and love for the God we worship
The people of University Lutheran Church of Hope care deeply about the safety of all children who participate in Hope's programs. Click here to find our Child Protection Policy for volunteers who wish to help with any children's program.

| | | Adult Faith Offerings | | Adult Forum The Adult Forum is weekly, during the Education Hour (9:45-10:45) on Sunday mornings, during the academic year. The topic changes from week to week, based on the interests and issues of the congregation, and global and local events. A favorite forum is personal faith stories shared by members of University Lutheran Church of Hope.
Bible Studies Bible studies at University Lutheran Church of Hope have taken shape in many ways. Some gatherings occur in people's homes every month; some are offered during the Adult Forum and on Tuesday morning as the church during the academic year. There is no offering in this area over the summer, but Bible Study will re-start in the fall. Last spring's schedule is available here.

Godly Play (Age 3 - grade 1) This curriculum, created by Jerome Berryman, teaches a core group of Bible stories in an atmosphere of wonder and worship. Hands-on lessons encourage children to hear stories of God working in the world and relate them to their own lives through reflection in play and artistic expression. Godly Play seeks to build a bridge between Sunday School and worship.
Life Together (Grades 2-6) This curriculum follows the lessons that are used for Sunday worship each week. Life Together encourages family faith discussions as family members experience the same scriptures each Sunday. Life Together focuses on connecting a person's life to the Word and then linking back to daily life.
Confirmation (Grades 7-8) Youth examine their personal faith, membership in the church, and faith in life. This special curriculum includes class trips, service projects, and overnight retreats. Primary focus is application of faith to life, Luther's Catechism, the Creed, preparation for the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism, and scripture study. This program seeks to encourage growth in a person's faith. See the Confirmation page.
High School Youth Group (Grades 9-12) Youth gather during the education hour to explore contemporary faith / life themes in a community of peers. Activities include recreation events, service opportunities, and preparation for a summer youth trip.
