Emily Brown is the pastoral intern at University Lutheran Church of Hope June 2021-spring 2023. She is in an intensive program through Luther Seminary called MDivX that includes classes and a concurrent internship experience. After growing up the daughter of a pastor, Emily’s call to ministry is an opportunity to claim her own identity as a pastoral leader. During her time at Hope she’ll experience and practice all different elements of ministry including worship leadership and preaching, pastoral care, education, outreach and administration. Emily grew up in Coon Rapids and has a home in St. Paul. She studied at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, and then more recently completed a degree at Concordia College in St. Paul with majors in Religion and Biblical Languages. She spent many years working varied jobs including as a teller and banker, managing a store, and working in the church as a youth director and sound tech. Emily enjoys watching NBA and NFL games (she’s a big Dallas Cowboys fan), and cooking and baking.
