Thursday, Mar 11

Senior Club
A variety of programs is planned for the Hope Senior Club. The Seniors meet the third Wednesday of each month.

Lunch is served at 12:00 noon in Fellowship Hall at $5.00 per person. Reservations are necessary. Your caller will contact you each month; or you may contact Diane Shallue in the church office at (612) 331-5988.

Everyone is welcome! Come for the 1:00pm program in Heritage Hall even if you don’t “lunch”. Print the following schedule and tape it on your refrigerator.

If you are unable to attend the luncheon, please know that you are always welcome to the program. Hope Senior Club is not an organization that you must “join,” but everyone is invited to any and all of our programs and activities. The gatherings are usually held the third Wednesday of each month. Please watch for future dates and programs. Plan to participate and invite your friends!

January 20

All seniors and retirees are cordially invited to the first Hope Senior Club gathering of the new year on Wednesday, January 20 beginning with a noon luncheon. The 1:00pm program will feature Alec Sweazy, pianist / accordionist. You may remember Alec from KARE-11 Extra; he’s the young man from Minnetonka with Williams syndrome and a passion for music. He has studied piano with Joan Minnetti (daughter of University Lutheran Church of Hope members Ludwig & Eleanor Edstrom) for 15 years. He has also studied accordion for 12 years with Larry Malmberg. Alec has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships and, in 2004, graduated from McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul. Alec is a member of the Apollo Male Chorus and sings in many concerts and events throughout the year.

Please join us for the luncheon, then sit back and feast your ears on some fabulous music. Alec will open on accordion with a variety of lively solos; he will later add a violinist. He will follow with classical piano works featuring Spanish and Russian composers. You won’t want to miss this one; come and invite your friends.

Reservations should be made by Thursday, January 14 with your caller or by phoning Pastor Esther Dant at (651) 636-7834. If transportation is needed, please phone Leona Reyelts at (612) 378-2444. The SouthEast Seniors Block Nurse will offer blood pressure checks after the program.

Meeting Schedule for rest of the the 2009-2010 Season:
March 17
April 21
May 19

Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for fellowship, food, and fun! A warm welcome waits all!
