ULCH Youth Music Leadership:
Kay Else, director Aria and handbell choirs
Solveig Mebust, Christianna Schmit and Andrew Sayre, asst. directors
Rosalie Eldevik, director Chapel choir
Tim Strand, Minister of Music

Solveig Mebust is an assistant director for the Aria and Youth Handbell choirs.  She is a sophmore music education major at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, with a concentration in flute and she also takes voice on the side.  She is taking a minor in Medieval Studies, as well.  She has been a member of University Lutheran Church of Hope  for 20 years.

This website is a function of University Lutheran Church of Hope and is maintained and designed by Solveig Mebust.  Please direct any questions to her at .
She someday hopes to be a high school band (and possibly choir!) director, because it means that she'll never have to really grow up.  She composes the occasional piece of music for the Aria and Youth handbell choirs, and hopes to do more of that in the future, as well as compose on a larger (perhaps orchestral?) scale.  She likes to write in a non-music fashion, too, and hopes to someday complete a murder mystery novel (though it would take a lot more patience that she's currently got!).  She works at Orchestra Hall as an Usher, Production Assistant, Office Assistant, and just about anything else they ask her to do.  Her favorite kind of ice cream is Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia, and if there were a way to make a career out of that, she would probably give it a good try.

To contact her with questions or comments about the choirs, events, or the website, please email her at .

rosalie eldevik

Rosalie Eldevik, a native Pennsylvanian, is a graduate from West Virginia Wesleyan College, and received her Masters degree from Saint Mary's University. Though her degree is in Elementary Education with a music specialization in vocal music, she considers the music ministry her vocation.

She has directed church choirs for over 25 years, both youth and adult at Saint John's United Methodist in Parkersburg, West Virginia; Saint Mark's Lutheran, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and University Lutheran Church of Hope. She is a member of the Choristers Guild and served as a board member for the Twin Cities Choristers Guild and has sung extensively in choirs.
